October 2018 Monthly Meeting is James Edgar, presentating “The Synthesis of Elements in Stars.”

Our Guest of Honour for the October meeting is James Edgar, of Melville, Saskatchewan. His presentation is “The Synthesis of Elements in Stars.” James spent a career working as an engineer for a well-known Canadian railroad, and is now retired. He joined the RASC in 2000 and immediately began to serve in various roles on the national leadership team, culminating as President from 2014 to 2016. He won the Society’s Service Award in 2012. Currently, he is Editor of the Observer’s Handbook. Asteroid (22421) James Edgar is named in his honour. See https://www.rasc.ca/asteroid/22421
