RASC London Centre is deeply saddened by the death of Terence Dickinson (1943-2023). Author of such well-known books as NightWatch and the Backyard Astronomer’s Guide. Terry was at the forefront of public education in Canadian astronomy. For all his efforts, he was made a member of the Order of Canada in 1995.

We’ve been extremely fortunate that he chose to share his astronomical journey with us. Terry visited London Centre many times, most recently during our RASC General Assembly in 2016. His impact was immeasurable, and he will be dearly missed by amateur astronomers everywhere.
