Hello All,

We have the following Science Literacy Week event at the Cronyn Observatory on Saturday, September 21st, 2019, from 5:00--10:00 p.m., for which the Institute for Earth & Space Exploration at Western University has requested RASC London Centre assistance. I plan to be at this event!

Space Out! Science Literacy Week Event -- Saturday, September 21, 2019

Space Out at Cronyn Observatory:

Please join us on Saturday, September 21st, at Western University's Hume Cronyn Memorial Observatory for a celebration of Science Literacy Week. This event is hosted by Western Space, in partnership with Department of Physics and Astronomy and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, London Centre. Space enthusiasts of all ages—kids, adults and everyone in between—will enjoy fun hands-on activities, historical displays and star gazing through telescopes!

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, September 21, 2019
Time: 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. (Entrance is free)
Location: The Hume Cronyn Memorial Observatory

Social Media: Tweet your pictures with the #scilit and #WesternU hashtags.

Activities:

- Star gazing through Cronyn's 10-inch main telescope as well as several other telescopes
- Space Trivia

- Historical displays and artifacts

- Hands-on activities:
Space themed Virtual Reality Station
Comet Mystery Boxes
Asteroid Mining

Parking:

Parking is FREE on Saturday evenings in the Alumni / Thompson (beside the Cronyn Observatory and behind Alumni Hall).
