Come and join us on February 15, 2019 for or monthly meeting. Mike Mazur, who is currently working on his PhD in meteor physics, will be our guest speaker.
His talk titled “Baker Nunn Cameras: history and current developments”, will overview the purpose, history, and construction of the Baker-Nunn telescopes. These telescopes were developed for tracking satellites back in the 1950s. Mike will bring us up to date on those telescopes that are still in existence, particularly the one at the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory, which he helped put back into service.
