Benjamin George is an M.Sc. student working towards completing a combined Astronomy & Planetary Science degree at Western University. He is studying ultra cool dwarfs (UCDs), which are stars and brown dwarfs classified as spectral type M7 or later. Due to their low surface temperatures, UCDs offer the best prospects for finding terrestrial exoplanets and characterizing their atmospheres. He works towards determining which UCDs will be optimal candidates for further study.
He will be the Guest of Honour on August 16th at the Cronyn Observatory giving a talk on “Everything on the lowest mass, and not quite, stars”.
Doors open at 7:30pm and starts at 8:00pm.
